Little Devil’s Staircase is located just outside Sperryville VA.  I watched the weather forecast and when there just as a rainstorm finished so that I would be assured that there was water in the stream.  I was told but friends that hiked there that it goes very dry in the summer. The trail has numerous stream crossings and at times you are walking in the stream as part of the trail so be ready for wet feet!  If you are not comfortable walking on loose and wet rock this is not the trail for you. I have read other descriptions of this trail saying that it is very steep.  I did not find it that way if I compared it to many of the other steep trails in the Shenandoah National Park.  There seem to be endless little water falls and pools along the way.  I couldn’t help think that I’ll be back on a hot day next summer to jump in!
